The T10 Bonus in Action

Well, I got my four piece Tuesday night after 25 man raids.  Actually, I’m super lucky and 3 of my 4 are Sanctified already… I know, I hate me a little bit too.  So for those of you who forgot, or never knew, the t10 (Lasherweave Garb) four piece set bonus is “Each time your Rejuvenation spell heals a target, it has a 2% chance to jump to a new target at full duration

So I took it for a test run Tuesday night in our 10 man group.  We killed the first four bosses, and cleared the blood wing, so there was a variety of different types of boss fight and some trash mixed in.  Since our awesome (although sadly, Gnomish) rogue Tinwhisker is nice enough to always do logs, I was able to take a look at how the bonus was effecting my healing.

Over the course of the 10 man run, I cast rejuvenation 557 times, and my set bonus cast rejuvenation 76 times.  Unless I’m mistaken, that means for ever 7 rejuvenations I cast, the set cast another for me (at some point before the original wore off.)  Not that bad!  It ended up accounting for 3.7% of my healing (regular rejuvenation made up 34.3%).  I think this number will be higher in 25 mans… my reason being that I do more rejuv-spam and less tank healing in 25 mans.  I am also trying to roll HoTs on a lot more people so my rejuvenations (cast by me or the set) are more likely to run their full duration in 25s and not be overwritten early.

Looking at my numbers for just Blood Queen 10 man, it actually seems to have gone off a lot less.  Obviously this is the opposite of what I would have expected, since I cast rejuvenation a lot more on that fight than some others.  I think that perhaps it only jumps to people who don’t have my rejuvenation already… because it seems to have jumped like 50% less often, and jumped more to the pets.  Since I almost always have rejuvenation on everyone in 10 man on this fight, it wouldn’t have as much of a chance to jump.  Mind you it’s all speculation and could just be chance!!  Twenty-five man will be the true test for this!  I also *hope* I have healbot setup to now show where it’s jumped, so I’m not overwriting it if it does!

UPDATE: I used the set Wednesday night in 25 man stuff.  All we had left was Blood Queen and Putricde.  These are both very rejuvenation-spam friendly fights… Blood Queen even more so than Putricide.  Here are the numbers:

In the Blood Queen kill, I cast rejuvenation 199 times and the set bonus cast it 26 times.  So it cast a spell once for ever ever 7.7 times I cast... it ended up making up 7.9% of my total healing (regular rejuvenation did 70%.)  In the Professor Putricide kill I cast rejuvenation 236 times, and the set cast it 29 times.  It cast it once for every 8 casts I did… it ended up making up 8.1% of my healing on the fight compared to the 51% of the rejuvenation that I actually cast.

So the numbers are defiantly better in 25 man… I realize that these are both rejuvenation heavy fights, but this is where druid’s really shine and the set bonus just puts that extra polish on our raid-healing dominance.

T10 Conclusion:

So…  my opinion of the 4-piece set bonus is:  Defiantly worth it for 25 man raiding.  Druids dominate AOE type fights anyway, but if the bonus is doing around 8% of the healing on these intense fights, then it’s really getting quite a bit of extra heals out to those in need. It really just takes what we are already good at, and makes it that much better :)

My, My, My…

On a more personal note, I’m a lucky tree to have gotten this achievement already.  Us trees aren’t exactly on the top of the “to bite” list, so I was rather pleased to have this the first week possible.  I feel sorta bad for some of the top DPS who we really don’t have the option to not-bite yet.  Oh well, scew ‘em, I got mine!!  JK… really ;)

And finally…. we did Nausea, Heartburn Indigestion achievement tonight… and I only got half of it frapsed!  I was kinda expecting it to take more tries… I shoulda started filming earlier :(  I guess I’ll post more about that tomorrow or the next day, I haven’t decided if the half-kill video is worth showing yet!

  1. “it ended up making up 7.9% of my total healing”

    Effective healing?

  2. Wow I am about 20 Frost emblems off from getting my last piece for the set bonus, thanks for all this info it will really come in handy :D

  3. Archdruid Angela on January 28th, 2010 at 7:08 am

    Yes effective healing

  4. Thanks for all of the great info! I just came back to the game after a bit of a break and got thrown straight into ICC 25. The videos and tips will be a great help! Also gives me a good idea of some of the gear choices I’ll be making once I can get out of this Uld stuff!

    Keep up the good work!

  5. The most important question about “jumping” was about leaving the main target from which rejuv does jump.
So, when proc happens, does it remove from i.e. tank and jump to i.e. pet with full duration or it stays on tank and the pet gets the copy?

  6. Could you please give the link to the logs where you are healing with the bonus?

  7. Archdruid Angela on January 29th, 2010 at 6:19 am

It does not leave the target it is on when it jumps, it adds a rejuvenation, it does not take anything away.

I think our guild logs are all set to private so I can not link it, sorry :(

  8. Correct, we set our raids to only be viewable by guild members. This is done for various reasons not the least of which is that we don’t need random WoW players looking at our logs and saying, “I’m 100 times better than that scrub you’ve got. You should drop him and take me.”

  9. Great post and terrific blog! I don’t quite have the badges for my 4-piece yet but am happy to hear that it’s worth getting. I have a quick question about your healbot setup – how did you configure it to show the rejuv jump? I feel stupid asking the question but I just can’t figure it out (and I can’t seem to get other druids hots to appear either). Any details you can provide would be much appreciated – please keep up the great work on the blog!

  10. In comparison with tghe 4 set bonus from the t9, is this really worth it? The t9 bonus is really awesome and I’m really reluctant to sacrifice it, or at least even go for the 4 set bonus in lasherweave

Saeren — About Healbot: make sure you have the newest version! If you do, then open up healbot config. Choose the “Skins” tab, and then the “Icons” button from the top.

On here go down to where it says “Druid options” on the bottom. You will find a list of spells that will show on your bars from each class… some are set to always (shows no matter who cast it), some are “self cast” (only shows if you cast it on the person… so your rejuves) or “never” if you don’t care to see it.

I changed Rejuv from “self cast” to “always”…. since I’m the only raiding druid, the rejuvenations I didn’t cast that I see, I know were cast by my set. This might not be such a handy thing if you have more than one tree… maybe someone has a better option to help you!!

Professorelm – I personally didn’t find the t9 set bonus to be at all thrilling, and broke my set at the first possible upgrade. In my opinion it is a lot less useful then the t8 or t10 bonus!

  12. Its nice to know that it turned out to be better than what I expected, however my main problem is being able to get the 4p while being at or close enough to haste cap. I’m currently at 780 w/o celestial focus and plan on getting the shoulders off princes to max myself out.

I’m thinking that if I get the crafted boots and belt of putricide or the badge cloth belt I could pick up the 4p. Which should I put priority on, 4p or haste cap in your opinion?

  13. Archdruid Angela on January 29th, 2010 at 8:21 pm

I personally lost haste to get 4peice and am now under cap again. It’s something I’m defiantly working on fixing but… at least for me, I’d rather have the bonus, it’s not like I’m waaaaaaaay off cap!

  14. Idk…I’m not sold by the set bonus tbh. My BiS list has only 2/5 T10 Maybe if i see myself way over haste cap then I’ll think about it.

  15. I’ll add some numbers to Professorelm’s post for my healing done on 10man ICC, since that is what I mostly do (casual raider). I’ll list some numbers from our last ICC10 clear.

On average, my Rejuvs heal for about 40-ish % of my total healing done and on Blood-queen that increased to 76.4%. Since we did this in 2 runs, the Blood-queen fight was without an extra 5% crit buff, but Rejuv crits made up around 27-ish % of my total Rejuv healing, thus making that around 10% of total healing and I had 22.9% of Rejuv healing done by crits, totalling it to 17.5% of my total healing.

These are quick numbers from my 4-set T9.25 gear. This is why I am very reluctant to drop the 245ilvl pieces to get 251ilvl ones and am considering to wait until I get 4 druid tokens to drop and switch 4-set bonus from T9 for 4-set T10.

Considering the above numbers, I’d appreciate your opinion about switching T9 set bonus for T10. Currently I’m leaning toward keeping T9 because the bonus feels more under control, ie. it heals more where I want it to heal more, and I already have practically all 10 raid members covered with Rejuv on Blood-queen all the time. So reading about the T10 set’s bonus healing by your numbers above I am not really convinced. Perhaps with all 264ilvl gear it is better since the stats get proportionally better as well, but … I’m in doubts. Help is appreciated :)

    Drvo-

You mean that 27% of your rejuvenations crit. Since a crit is 150% of a normal tick, then the extra 50% is that “crit” amount, meaning that 9% of your healing came from critical bonuses on rejuvenation. But those numbers just tell you if if a tick crit, not if it crit while the person was at full or near full health when it happened. I don’t know about you but my overheal is pretty high… but smaller on blood queen so let’s just say 1/3 of it is overheal. Now you’re down to 6%, and wearing gear that (even if 251 is a small upgrade, it all adds up) has less stats than the t10, so your average non-crit heals are healing for somewhat less… and all those small numbers really add up over the course of the fight.

Also keep in mind that your #2 spell on these fights is most likely wild growth. The two piece t10 bonus buffs this spell, so both tier bonuses are aimed at raid healing.

I’m sorry, I know some people are attached to the t9, but I just don’t see it.

  17. Ah, you’re right of course about the crits. I must (should?) have been on some drug to not take notice of it.

As for Wild Growth, I use it often, but I do not find it very practical on every fight (people standing too far apart so it reaches 1-3 targets at most — I’m mostly doing 10-mans so there’s more room to spread around and we keep bogger distances from each other).

I’ll still probably wait until I get one more armor token and emblems and replace 4-set T9 for 4-set T10. And play with Rawr some more.

    Thanks again for your answer.

  18. Just to add, it seems that the procced rejuv seems to favor people with lower health. I haven’t been able to tell if there’s range though.

But overall I’m enjoying the 4pc bonus. It’s like a free mana and global cooldown heal at a decent proc rate.

Thanks for this blog, it was very useful :)

  19. I wish Tier-10 4p bonus was a smart spell to be honest, since 70% reju is overhealing.. Anyway, I wonder if Revitalize worths to get it in that case. I dont think its an amusing talent to have but after dropping T9 bonus, I can put some points on it instead of Natural Perfection. Do you know if Tier-10 4p bonus gives energy/mana/rage like the ordinary reju?

  20. Archdruid Angela on February 5th, 2010 at 3:32 pm

I actually don’t know if the t-10 bonus procs revitalize. I am currently not speced into revitalize… but I’m like 1 upgrade away from being able to drop celestial focus at which point I’l probably spec back into it.

If I had to guess, I would say it probably doesn’t. I only think this because in the logs it shows up as a different spell than our regular rejuvenation. But I hope I’m wrong!! If anyone knows for sure, I’d love to hear.

  21. Hey Angela i was just wondering why u picked up the Tier shoulders ontop of the robes, i thought our best setup was 4 piece with Blood Prince HM shoulders?

  22. Archdruid Angela on February 6th, 2010 at 11:53 pm

I either had to take crit on my teir shoulders or my teir robe. The reason I and got the shoulders is because I was wearing a 258 robe and 245 shoulders, so it made sense for me to upgrade the robe last. Those shoulders would be a good choice with the other 4 pieces, but I didn’t think it was the right choice for me in this intermediate gear phase between TOC heroic stuff and ICC heroic stuff :)

  23. yeah im only using 2 pieces atm, just waitin for HM BPrinces using the QDL 10 shoulders and Fester 25 legs the extra sockets are pretty win, btw that trauma fix is insane, it did a rediculous amount of my healing in Twins tonight for a weapon proc.

  24. Yeah I’m still not sold on the 4 set bonus. Im savin’ dkp for shoulders and legs. I will say the 2 set in bomb.com, but I still think the 4 set is a weak bonus. If it was >10% I wouldn’t think twice about gettin’ it. Tier 9 4 set was such a good bonus, I wish they would do something like that.

  25. Archdruid Angela on February 11th, 2010 at 4:51 pm

Here you go, an actually screenie of from worldoflogs of my healing on Blood Queen last night. The first “Rejuvenation” is what I cast, the second “Rejuvenation” is the one cast by the set bonus. You can see that last night it was 7.4% on this fight.

@Qlazzarus = You say 10%… but you do know it can jump off ever tick right? So its 2% per tick, but your rejuvenation ticks six times each time you cast it.

  26. [...] the druid, I would defiantly recommend the tier bonuses.  I have written more about the 4 piece at this link.  The 2 piece doesn’t seem that impressive on paper, but honestly it seems more useful for [...]

  27. My character Ruggheals on Grizzly Hills is running into a few problems with set bonuses. I have the Lasherweave Pauldrons, as well as the Handguards of Winter’s Respite; my chest and legs are t9.5, and my helm is the Helm of Abundant Growth.

My problem is… I want to get another piece for a t10 bonus, but I’m not sure which I should go for. Originally I had planned on purchasing the t10 gloves. I want to know if it’s worth keeping the Handguards, or if I should take the t10 gloves and go for the Vestments of Spruce and Fir. I’ve heard from several trees that this is the optimal choice.. but I mean… why waste frost on gloves when I’ve already got some? Should I just save up frost for the t10 helm, legs, and chest?
